Happy Mothers Day – 2014

To Claire Who I’ve Always Called Mom

Always there to lend a hand when family is in need
Never expecting anything in return
That’s who you’ve always been

Even though you don’t always agree
And known mistakes were foreseen
You give a little smile as if to say
I could have shown you the way
If only you’d asked the other day

You never sit in judgement
That’s just not you

Your arms are always open wide
For those you love, for all you do

I don’t think you realize how much you mean to me
How lucky I am to have you, always with me

This year on Mother’s Day I wanted you to know

How much I love and appreciate you so

Each year I like to write my mother in law a poem to show her how much she means to me. I’m fortunate to have a mother in law that I not only get along with really well, but that I can call her one of my very best friends.

Here are a few other poems I’ve written for my mother in law.
