Such a lovely, almost magical place, sans the biting flies!

Love it, especially the final line…”slipping away”.

It is indeed a serene place. Two years back a young swan, adolescent, coming on adult, set up home in this place. We hoped he/she would attract a mate and we’d have cygnets. But the end of last summer he/she was gone. There’s a family of mallards, though. Very successful. And recently a pair of white egrets have appeared ofter here. Egrets are new to UK. And damselflies with iridescent blue wings in constant motion. But if you think it’s idyllic, think again. Mosies abound, and horseflies. I never leave that place without being biten!

When I first saw your picture I felt calm and welcomed. Looks like such a lovely place. Now horseflies I can do without but even with them there if would be worth the visit.

It sure is. I don’t make a speical trip to go there, but if I’m in the area, I can’t pass without talking a walk round there.
