It was just this year that I noticed that this tree had flowers on it. These are the best pictures I could get of it which I had to take through a bedroom window in the upstairs of my home.
I was doing a bit of research on the Flowering Dogwood (Cornus florida) and found out that it could grow as high as 40 feet.
This post is for FOTD, Flower of the Day.
that’s a very big tree, may put your house in shadow!

It’s pretty sparse though. The branches go every which way. It probably needs prunning š

Wow, that’s beautiful. I’m not used to seeing such a tall dogwood. Ours tend to shrub size, with flowers not worth writing home about. However, the Cornelian Cherry is a species of dogwood, and that grows to about 20′. The flowers look much like those outside your bedroom window, except more in a loose spire.

Thanks š That’s really interesting. I’m just starting to get into trees and flowers. I’ve always liked them but have never really paid attention to what they are and where they grow.
