Kitty’s Dilemma

This was written for What do you See weekly challenge.

Kitty Cats

“And just where do you think you’re going, young lady?”

“Mom and I had a big fight and I just want to leave. I don’t know where I’m going, I’m just going.”

Kitty Girl’s boyfriend was stealthily hanging with paws clutching the eavestrough listening to what was being said between Kitty and her father. All he could think of was he’s gonna kill me if he finds out I’m here with his daughter. Their plans to run away didn’t include this encounter.

“Kitty, I’m sure whatever your mother and you were arguing about can be resolved. There’s no reason for you to run away. Grab your things and come home with me right now.”

“Dad, you just don’t understand. I want to make a life for myself away from home and it seems like now would be the perfect time to do so. Even though mom says she doesn’t think I’m old enough, I’m sure you two would love to be alone after all these years of raising us kittens.”

Come on Kitty quit all the jibber jabbering and figure out a way to get out of this. My poor paws can’t hold on for too much longer.

“Tomcat get your butt up here before you fall. I know you’re there, I can hear you breathing .”

As Tomcat was doing a summersault to get up on the roof Kitty looked at her father and said, “Okay I’ll come clean. Tomcat and I are running off to Vegas to get hitched. We’re old enough which you already know and no one can stop us because we’re in love.”

Kitty’s dad held out a hand to help steady Tomcat. “Well if you two are so hellbent on getting married at least let me have the honor of giving you away Kitty. Your mother would be absolutely heartbroken if you ran off like this so let us all go and talk to her. I’ll let her know that you two have my blessings, and we should plan a wedding.”

“Really, Dad? Are you serious?””

Tomcat was a little shocked as he never knew that KOkayitty’s dad could or would be so reasonable. He said to Kitty, “Let’s go and talk to your mom, it wouldn’t hurt and it would be nicer to be married here in New York City with family around rather than going across the country where we don’t know a soul.”

“Okay kids, let’s go and plan a wedding.”

“We’re right behind you dad.”
