Guilty or Innocent Part 5 of 5

At this point Pete’s mom spoke up, “I think you should tell us, Pete, you don’t want this on your record, as it may hamper your college applications and I’m sure you don’t want that to be the one thing that holds you back from getting into college right?”

Pete sat staring down wringing his hands knowing his mother was right but if he snitched there’d be quite a few guys that he was acquainted with who’d probably kick the shit out of him but then, on the other hand, this could ruin the rest of his life.

The bell sounded and Mr. Taylor had to go and supervise the bus students, stood up, and said, “I’ll give you a few minutes Pete to think about this and when I get back I hope you will have come to your senses and have an answer for me.”

Pete’s mom waited for the door to close and asked him, “This person who you don’t want to give up isn’t in your circle of friends is he?”

“No mom, he isn’t, and you know his parents from church, it’s Sam Wilkinson, and I’ve decided to tell Mr. Taylor when he gets back here.”

“Sam Wilkinson, are you sure, he has always been such a polite boy, it surprises me that he would have done this, and why!”
