Guilty or Innocent – Part 7

Just then Mr. Taylor walked back into his office obviously hearing what Jane had just said from the look on his face but never questioned it and Pete thought to himself, good, it’s none of his business what my mother and I are talking about.

Sitting down in his chair he spoke, “Well Pete, what’s your decision, you’ve had enough time to think this over while I was gone.”

“If I tell you who I think it was, can it stay between us … or are you going to tell them it was me that ratted them out?”

“I’ll try to keep your identity a secret, but I can’t promise whether or not to get you involved as it depends on many angles.”

Pete’s mom spoke up, “Many angles you say, like what?”

“Who the student is, what the police say about this, whether this person has a record if someone wants to take this to court, and if so Pete may have to testify.
