The following was written for a challenge called #SixSentenceStoryover at Denise’s. This week’s prompt word is “Hunch”.
Everything was ready, salads were made, veggies ready to cook, table set, and wine chilling. All that was left to do was barbeque the ribs and cook the veggies.
After going outside to start the grill I came back into the kitchen to season the ribs and to get my BBQ sauce and tools ready to go.
This was to be the first family meal since COVID started and I was looking forward to seeing everyone.
Halfway through cooking the ribs, the gas ran out. I had a hunch this was going to happen and so happy that I’d filled a second tank.
Well, now I want ribs. You did your job here…great six.

Deliciously* fun Six!
* was that a credible use of ‘deliciously’ ? Can’t say I’ve ever used it.

That is the perfect meal for me. I can relate to the gas tank’s running out just when you’re cooking for ten. I eventually got the bar-b-que hooked up to the gas line. Delicious six.
