The following was written for this week’s Flash Fiction Challenge over at Carrot Ranch.
In 99 words (no more, no less), write a story deep waters. It can be literal or metaphorical. Think of a place and person and situation. Explore. Bathe. Renew. Go where the prompt leads!
The waves that day were perfect for bodysurfing.
I headed into deeper water where the waves were forming so I could ride one back into shore. What I didn’t realize was that the undertow was quite strong and just as the wave was breaking, down under the water I went. The undertow literally dragged me across the bottom of the sea, my body feeling the gritty sand scratching and stinging my skin. I could feel the weight of the sand filling my suit. Finally surfacing disoriented, opening my eyes I saw I was at the shoreline, and stood up.

Quarantined thoughts
Locked away to this day
Secrets I cannot tell
Entrusted by family and friends
Kept anchored away in my mind
till the very end

The following was written for a challenge called #SixSentenceStory over at Denise’s. This week’s prompt word is “Therapy”.
My story is ongoing and I began writing it on March 18th. It is about a boy by the name of Pete Patterson. During a random locker check a bag of pot was found in Pete’s locker. If you’d like to read this from the beginning, it starts here.
“I’m not at liberty to say.”
Pete’s dad’s blood was starting to boil, “What the hell is that supposed to mean?”
“In order for me to answer you, I will have to get the Wilkinson’s permission first.”
“Oh my God this is turning into a three-ring circus and I’m getting sick of this. If we do not get answers soon, you will need therapy!”
Taylor looked a little piqued and took this as a threat.
*********************************************
“Now, now, let’s not, let’s not, be like that, we can surely rectify this matter, it’s just going to take a little more time is all. No one is going to need therapy. How about everyone go home, for now, I’ll talk again to the Wilkinson’s, and hopefully, we can get this all sorted out. I’ll have my secretary call you and we can set up another appointment and talk.”
“The sooner the better.” Pete’s dad said and headed towards the door.
As the Patterson’s were leaving Jane decided she’d call Emma Wilkinson and see if she could find anything out.
To be continued …
The following was written for a challenge called #SixSentenceStory over at Denise’s. This week’s prompt word is “Passion”.
My story is ongoing and I began writing it on March 18th. It is about a boy by the name of Pete Patterson. During a random locker check a bag of pot was found in Pete’s locker. If you’d like to read this from the beginning, it starts here.
Mr. Taylor sat there with an incredulous look not answering Jane.
“Where would my son even get such leaves, they sure don’t grow around here,” chimed in Pete’s dad who was from the southern part of the USA.
“Sam was in Texas visiting his grandparents during spring break with his parents and could have easily brought the leaves back,” said Jane.
“Hmm, I see, said Mr. Taylor as he tapped the notepad in front of him with his pen. I do not want to bother the Wilkinson’s about this matter again but …”
“But what!” Pete’s dad said with no passion whatsoever.
To be continued …
If you look very closely you’ll see a bumblebee. Not a great capture but …
This picture is for a challenge by Brian over at bushboys world.
